Design Phase ( Feb - May 2013)
The basic idea of Efficycle is to design and Fabricate an EHPV(Electrically assisted Human Powered Vehicle). The Vehicle was developed with following highlights,

  •          Three wheeled vehicle( tadpole configuration)
  •          Driven by two drivers.
  •           Double individual crank mechanism.
  •           Electrical drive with BLDC MOTOR.
  •           Electronic assistance for automatic gear changing.
  •           Ergonomic seat and vehicle design.
  •           Modified Ackermann system for steering.
  •            Telescopic suspension arrangement.
  •             Front disc breaks and shoe brakes for the rear.
  •        Extra provisions for drivers safety with tool kit and medical kit
Fabrication Phase (June- Oct 2013)
The fabrication phase had its utmost importance and endurance. the vehicle was made with all the interest and engineering skills we had.

Innovation:

Manual and Automatic gear shifting mechanism, using the Speed sensor, Arduino, a stepper motor.       the Stepper motor gets the command from Arduino and whose input is from a speed sensor placed to the rim of the wheel. The rotation of the stepper motor depends on the speed of the vehicle. If the speed of the vehicle exceeds a certain value which is sensed continuously by a speed sensor, then the stepper motor undergoes a rotation which leads to the pulling of derailleur cable. This continuous mechanism leads to the shifting of gears automatically.

Optimization of Hot Rolling Parameters in SSLNA Grade Rolling

Lean Optimization of SSLNA Rolling(Jan - April 2015)  The optimization of the entire process is very difficult, that the effort has been taken only to stabilize the parameters of Rolling in Roughing mill. According to the suggestions made by SAIL- R&D, 7pass rolling is now adopted and steps have been taken to optimize the 7 pass rolling, but it is also accompanied by a lot of difficulties that make the rolling hard. The effects, analysis, and suggestions are made for parameters by increasing the number of passes to 9 thereby decreasing the Wastages, enhancing the Utilization of Re-Heating Furnace.  Results of Lean Management:   As per the trial run carried out by the suggested input parameters such as discharge  temperature, pace rate, retention time and slab size the output data are recorded in the EDAS system.  The data that are taken for consideration from the EDAS are roll force, spike, the percentage of  reduction and change of length in every pass. My First Engineering

My first Engineering, will be a post that expresses the thought process, when making uncertain decisions in the most important point of life. One has to share his own experience, when trying to bring some uncommon topics into light. I have handled this post by writing about someone I am very familiar with and that is I, myself. When you consider the life of an average student in the provisional state of Tamil Nadu, India, he would most probably end up becoming an Engineer. Although, I was sailing in the same boat as many, I always wanted to shine in the work I do. With some good grades from your school, you can get into some reputed institutes in Tamil Nadu, which was in my case named as Government College of Technology located in the city of Coimbatore, India.  There is a common saying in India that, students study hard in private schools to get into reputed Government colleges. I was also such a guy, who strived hard in school, to join a top ranked Government Engineering c
